There’s always a next time!
A new chapter begins
As always I sailed into a yet another New Year,
Perhaps! How to follow my new resolutions is my only fear.
My new Levis jeans are tight,
I plan to fight the fat with all my might,
But how to control is the question of the time,
Then I realize ought to draw a line.
The time spent on social media exceeds the time spent on Wikipedia,
Henceforth i resolve to befriend encyclopedia.
Studying a day before exams,
Was what i did hitherto?
But the trend is seldom looked up to.
Its time to make amends and let it go.
The mess in my room
My mother eyes get rheum
And i swear to broom.
Indolence being the main enemy,
Makes me do everything callously,
Again i vow to keep checks and balances probably.
The habit of folding hands at last minute of exam,
Forgetting to thank and,
Without giving it a damn,
Is promised to be scrammed.
To thine own self,
These were the resolutions of the years that passed
And are yet to be espoused,
For life is a rhyme
which chimes with my regime,
And! There’s always a next time.

My odyssey with faith
Faith acts as a stabilizer
When your fear takes shape of lazer
Ripping apart the soul
Which once rested in peace.
It is like a cool drink
Which when drunk settles all your anxieties
And lightens the way to a brink.
It invites a blissful state within
A state, the glimpse of which
Can be traced in eternally delightful kittens.
It reinforces your bond with life
And you are all set to go miles full of knives.
It eclipses fears in one’s soul
and plants the seeds of self belief,
which enthuses him to make it to the shores,
Alas! Today’s youth lacks in them
In them this perennial fountain
Of calmness and serenity
And thus are imbibing in them enmity
The power of your faith should be greater than your power of fear,
To save your life from becoming a dreadful odyssey of tears.
